THE HOLY QUR’AN SÛRAH AL-BAQARA–VERSE

 
 
  BASMALA ( BISMILLAHIRRAHMANIRRAHIM )
 
 
         SÛRAH – 2   AL BAQARA
 
         Revealed at Madîna
 
         (This Sûrah,which is 286 verses long,is the longest Sûrah in the Holy Qur’an.It takes its name from the cow which was mentioned in verses 67-73.Verses 275-281,belongs to the last month’s of prophet’s deat.Verse 281 is considered to be the last revelation……
 
          …..The Verse of the Throne (ÂYAT AL-KURSÎ) is also to be found in this Sûrah:a famous  passage where Allah’s sublime and transcendent nature is called to mind.The Sûrah ends with a prayer for forgiveness of shortcomings.
 
          The period of this Sûrah was the years 1 and 2 A.H.
 
 
          In the name of Allah,the Compassionate,the Merciful.  (Rahman ve rahim olan Allah’ın adıyla-Bismillahirrahmanirrahim……..)
 
 
         VERSES
 
             1 – Alif.Lâm.Mim.
                  (The true meaning of initials this type is only knownto Allah. // These mystical letters are called  al-Hurûf al-Muqatta’at.and are placed of several Sûrahs,of which they are an integral part.Different interpreters and commentators have ascribed a range of different meanings to them,without,however ,arriving at any cosensus.)
 
                2 – This is the Book in which there is no doubt,in it is guidance for those who fear God.
 
               3 – Who believe in the unseen,establish the Salât-prayer,and spend out of what We have given them.
 
               4 – And who believe in that which is sent down to you (Muhammad),and that wich was sent down before you (the Books and the prophets), and have certain faith in the Hereafter.
 
              5 – These are the people on true guidance from their Lord,and such are ( the people who are truly ) successful.
 
              6 – As for the disbelievers,it is the same whether you warn them,or warn them not (of the final punishment).They will not believe.
 
              7 – Allah has set a seal on their hearts and on their eyes there is a covering.For them there is a great penalty (both in this world,and the hereafter.)
 
              8 – And there are some who say,"We believe in Allah and the Last Day",yet they believe not.
 
              9 – They tink to deceive Allah and the believers,but they deceive no-one except themselves,though they  realise it not.
 
            10 – In their hearts is a disease,so Allah has increased their disease.Because of their lies there is a great penalty for them.
 
            11 – When it is said to them:"Make not mischief in the eart",they say:"We are only peacemake".
 
           12 – Nay,they are the ones who make mischief,but they realise it not.
 
           13 – And when it is said to them,"Believe as people believe",they say:"Shall we believe as the fools believe?"They themselves are the fools,though they realize it not.
 
            14 – And when (these hypocrites) meet those who believe,they say:"We believe !" but when they are alone with their evil ones,they say:"We are whith you,we were only mocking."
 
            15 – Allah ( Himself) does mock at them (in reality,whether  they realise it or not),leavink them to wander blindy in thir rebellion.

         …67 – And when Moses said to his people:"Allah commands you to sacrifise a cow." they replied: "Are you making fun of us?" He answered:"Allah forbit that I should be among the ignorant !"
                   (According  to certain accounds,a man among the Children of Israel killed his uncle,in order to acquire his wealth.Moses  attempted to identify the killer,but could not.Praying for divine aid,he received ved the command to sacrifice a cow.Mûsa announced this sacrifice  to the Israelites they treated it as a jest,and attempted to find all kinds of excuses in order to evade the command.The more questions they asked,the more answers they received;finally they ran out of excuses and obeyed. The Israelites used a piece of meat taken from the sacrificed cow to strike the dead person,who was revived and then
 
               68 – They said: "Pray for us to your Lord that He make clear to us what kind of cow she shall be".Moses answered:"He says that she should neither be old nor immature but a cow between the two conditions;so do that wich you are commanded."
 
          69 – Then they asked,"Pray for us to your Lord that He make clear to us of what colour sheshould be."Moses ansswered:"He says that she is a yellow cow; bright her colour,pleasing to the eye."
 
         70 – (O Moses),they said:Pray for us to your Lord,that He make known to us the exact type of cow she should be, for to us cows look alike.Andif Allah wills,we shall be rightly guided."
 
         71 – He anwered."Your Lord says:"She should be a cow which has not been yoked.nor has ploughed the land or watered  the fields,a cow free from any blemish."Now you have told us the truth," they answered;and they sacrificed it,although they almost did not.
